Painting and Sculpture
For me, the appeal of practicing painting and sculpture in parallel lies in the fact that both art forms offer different, complementary ways of expressing ideas. Painting is more spontaneous and can be faster, while sculpture is often slower and more physical (e.g., working with a chainsaw).
Another appealing aspect is that painting involves working with the illusion of space on a surface (perspective, light, color), while sculpture involves working with real space and volume.
Practicing both art forms together significantly deepens artistic perception. For me, therefore, they are not separate disciplines, but different expressions of a common idea. This creates an overall context in which painting and sculpture do not compete, but complement each other.
Depending on the motif, I use painting and sculpture to create works that correspond with each other. This creates an exciting dialogue between surface and space, between illusion and physical presence. The surface is conceived spatially, the space is perceived pictorially. While painting uses color, light, and perspective to create a space on a two-dimensional surface, sculpture intervenes in real space.
