Wood is a marvelous medium for creating sculptures. It smells good, can be worked in a variety of ways and is suitable for both abstract and figurative works. As a material for my sculptures I use mainly regional woods, such as spruce, douglas fir or oak.

The coarser work on the trunk or block of wood is accomplished with the chainsaw, which requires a careful handling with the material wood. Here the attraction lies in the finding and shaping of the sculpture, which gradually becomes
abstract or figurative is worked out. The fine work is then done with carving and grinding tools. At the end of this process,
the sculpture is impregnated (e.g., with linseed oil) and often painted in color as a reinforcing design element.

Alberto Giacometti once said, "a sculpture is not an object, it is a question, an answer. It can never be finished, never perfect."

When looking at my sculptures, I hope that they are not simply seen as a static object, but that they can be
experienced sensually by seeing and touching them and that they are liked.
